Medusa the gorgon had one tiny flaw
She would turn to stone anyone she saw
From hero to shepherd and all in between
No one could resist the rock-solid queen.
Alas, the mirror was her undoing
Because it made her the victim of her own viewing
A bad way to learn that your power reflects
But the questions it raises are quite complex
For if Medusa can make herself a rock
Does being a rock make the power stop?
Or when the mirror is finally thrown
Will the hero still turn to stone?
And if someone passing through merely glanced
Would they still find themselves entranced?
Because if she can still make you harden
Her temple will soon be a cute statue garden
