Different Dreams [30 Days Of Poetry- Day 3]

Prompt: Dream

Follow your dreams, the modern refrain
For you it’s joy, for me a bane
Because our dreams are not the same

The cat has stolen a nuclear sub
The missiles are being ransomed for extra grub
While I’m afloat in a leaking tub

I’ve got an important test today
But my legs have run away
I can’t scream for help, I can only neigh

I’m about to fail my final exam
But I don’t know how to run a tram
And I didn’t revise the parts of a ram

So next time you come to
Remember your brain is a twisted brew
Nightmares are just dreams with a different hue
