Indiana Jones [30 Days Of Poetry – Day 18]

Prompt: History

Indiana Jones was a really dashing chap
But as an archeologist, he was pretty crap
It isn’t really archeology when it stands above the ground
You can’t say you discovered it when it has already been found

The Temple Of Doom was fully occupied
The Holy Grail’s location had someone inside
Nothing you’ve found has been forgotten
Mr. Jones, your methods are rotten

Saying you found them is utter slop
It’s like saying you discovered a corner shop
Overall your thinking is flawed
Mr. Jones, I think you’re a fraud

But I understand your internal plight
The history economy isn’t that bright
You just want to punch Nazis all-day
And while it is good that work just doesn’t pay.

So you polish your job title, give it a twist
Say you use trowels rather than the power of fist
Then when the taxman asks what you do
You can file your returns without any ado
