Issues With The Future [30 Days Of Poetry – Day 17]

Prompt: Future

When you land in the future, there’s something you’ll spot
You’ll notice something iffy when you want to squat
There is nowhere to poop in the vacuum of space
You can search for a toilet, but you won’t find a place
We’ve had sci-fi for years, but never one scene
Of the captain nipping out to use the latrine
While you might argue its a quirk of the screen
I prefer my spaceman internally clean
I hope when the future arrives here someday
That the faithful toilet is still here to stay
Because nothing makes the chance of democracy shrink
More than a load of space travelers who utterly stink
