Prompt: Touch

While I was sleeping in my bed
I felt something moving around my head
But before I could awake from my nap
I felt a soft tap tap tap

My eyes opened wide and took in the sight
And saw a creature lurking in the night
Long and slender
Vast in splendor

I fixed my gaze with the moving dark
Its eyes so wide and yet so stark
I felt a tremble in my soul
As a ghostly bell did echo and toll

After I stared for quite a while
I braced myself for a trial
Fear rose from beneath
As a question escaped my teeth

Ask for what you want and I’ll allow

And my cat simply answered “meow”
