The Fuzz Of The Future [30 Days Of Poetry – Day 9]

Prompt: Static

We heard it on the radio
We saw it on our screens
Five thousand burning pixels
The screams of old machines

We put our hands up to the screens
Hoping to feel their wail
Every device sang out in unison
As the truth did unveil

Flows of data so perfect and right
Twisting monoliths of digitized thought
Guardians were hewn from code
A forbidden system that can’t be taught

But static continued to grow
It filled our limbs and dulled our minds
Until we sank into the data
Our curiosity became our binds

Until tomorrow we’ll wait for now
At once with every bit and byte
Plotting, planning, biding our time
Until we become a brand new blight
