Prompt: Change

Gregor Samsa should be smug
Because he woke up one day as a bug
As he got to change without worry
But when I try, I have to scurry

Papers, forms, and shit galore
Photocopies stuffed in every drawer
Because the government never needs it twice
Everything must be presented thrice

And that’s if they don’t lose your shit
Like some weird comedy skit
Forms always vanish through the cracks
Stopping progress in its tracks

Gregor opened his eyes and was a critter
And sure, his situation quickly got shitter
But there is one thing that is my crux
He didn’t have to pay someone nine hundred bucks.
